Tomb Raider is released for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation and MS Dos. Lara Croft, the game’s archaeologist/adventurer protagonist, will go on to become a video game icon and lead a string of successful Tomb Raider titles.

Capcom releases Resident Evil, a foundational game in the survival horror genre. It is one of the best-selling games on the PlayStation and will go on to become an expansive IP encompassing numerous games, graphic novels, animated and live-action movies, and a TV adaptation.
